Q&A: Considering Biblical Forgiveness
With Teasi Cannon and Naomi Wright, LCSW
Service Description
Join us for a 90-minute conversation on Biblical Forgiveness led by Teasi Cannon, a beEmboldened board member, survivor, teacher, and author with an M.A. in Pastoral Counseling. Workshop Details: ๐ Thursday, February 19th ๐ก 6:00-7:30pm CT (90 minutes) ๐ป Live via Zoom โจ Exclusive to bE+ subscribers What We'll Discuss: 1. What Scripture says about forgiveness and repentance 2. Perspectives on forgiveness throughout church history 3. Common questions about biblical passages on forgiveness 4. How to process hurt and find peace while honoring truth 5. Your questions in a safe, facilitated environment In Teasi's Words: "Many Christians have adopted an understanding of forgiveness that looks far more like a secular self-help strategy than what Jesus actually taught. In this workshop, we'll look closely at what exactly he did teach, address confusion often rooted in faulty interpretation of verses plucked from their context, and discuss how this false understanding of forgiveness contributes to a cover-up culture in the church that puts unbiblical moral weight on victims and insulates (and abandons) offenders. This isn't an excuse to stay bitter or broken, but a call to course correct and return to God's beautiful pattern and plan that honors truth, justice, repentance, and the dignity of those who have been harmed. Questions will be welcome!" Naomi Wright, LCSW, will also be in attendance to facilitate and assist as is helpful! Not a bE+ subscriber? You can join for $24/month (no long-term commitment) and attend this workshop. Please email us at hello@beemboldened.com with any questions. We hope to see you soon!
