About the event
Are you a survivor of spiritual abuse or do you know someone who has suffered? beEmboldened is partnering with Valleybrook Church to provide survivors of spiritual abuse and those who care for them with tools, resources, and a supportive environment to aid in their healing and rebuilding journey. Interested in prevention of spiritual abuse? We’ll touch on that, too.
Led by Founder and Executive Director for beEmboldened, Naomi Wright, LSW, M.A., will share some of her own story as the daughter of a pseudo-Christian cult leader, and provide attendees with guidance on topics related to identifying the complexities of spiritual abuse and practical solutions to walk out one's own healing journey in the aftermath of religious trauma, whether experienced in a mainstream denomination or in an off-the-grid compound.
Workshop topics include:
- Spiritual Abuse 101: What is it and why does it matter?
- CAUTION CAUTION CAUTION: Flags to watch out for.
- Rebuilding After Spiritual Abuse: How to help yourself and others.
- Open Q&A
Lunch, coffee, tea, and snacks will be provided as well as a "Fill-Your-Own Support Toolkit" station where attendees can create personalized kits to support themselves well throughout the workshop and beyond.Representatives from beEmboldened will also be available to provide information about their services, support networks, and ongoing programs designed for spiritual abuse prevention, healing, and rebuilding.
